What are neodymium magnets?

Neodymium magnets are known by several different names. Due to their high holding force, they are also commonly referred to as super magnets. They are also known as neodymium-iron-boron magnets or NdFeB magnets. Neodymium is one of the rare-earth metals. In combination with iron and boron, it is used to manufacture particularly high-performance permanent magnets. Neodymium magnets are available in many different designs and with various coatings. A commonly used nickel-copper-nickel coating also provides a silver-coloured, glossy surface.
